Handmad Tile Grades 1, 2 & 3
General Specifications of Handmade Tile Quality in Different Grades
To help you better understand the varying grades of handmade tiles and their quality, we have outlined the key specifications below. Each grade reflects different characteristics, including craftsmanship, material quality, and finish. By reviewing these details, you can determine which grade best suits your project’s needs and preferences.
As you can see in the following breakdown, the quality and features of the tiles differ depending on the grade, allowing you to make an informed decision when selecting the perfect tiles for your space.
-- Grade One (First Grade) Quality – Our Best Craftsmanship
Grade One, or first-grade quality, represents the pinnacle of our handmade tile craftsmanship. Every element—from the colors and glaze materials to the tile biscuit—is of the highest standard. The design, including intricate drawings and coloring, is meticulously hand-painted by skilled artisans, ensuring professional and flawless execution.
When the tiles are fired in the oven, the result is exceptional: the tiles are virtually free from imperfections, with a maximum of two or three spots per square meter, or sometimes none at all. The colors are well-balanced, providing excellent contrast and creating a stunning, cohesive tile frame. The overall aesthetic is a beautiful, flawless picture of design and quality.

-- Grade Two (Second Grade) Quality – More Affordable with Good Craftsmanship
Grade Two quality tiles offer a more cost-effective option, typically 25 to 30 percent cheaper than Grade One tiles, depending on the quality of materials used. While the fundamental elements such as colors, glaze materials, and tile biscuits are still of good quality, the craftsmanship differs slightly.
In Grade Two tiles, the drawing objects are usually printed, with coloring applied by hand in a professional manner. However, as a result, you may notice more spots or dots per square meter when compared to Grade One. The colors may not appear as brilliant or sharp on the glaze, and there may be some acceptable imperfections in the drawing.
These tiles are still a great choice for areas where the tiles will be viewed from a distance, such as places with ceilings over 3 to 4 meters high, as the imperfections are less noticeable from afar. Due to their lower price, Grade Two tiles are often used for standard projects. However, for royal or first-class customers seeking luxurious interior or exterior decor, Grade Two tiles are typically not preferred.

-- Grade Three (Third Grade) Quality – Not Recommended
Grade Three quality tiles are typically 40 percent cheaper than Grade One tiles, but they are made with lower-quality materials across all aspects, including the tile biscuit, glaze, and colors. Due to the significant reduction in material quality and craftsmanship, we do not recommend Grade Three tiles for any project.
In fact, we have never manufactured these tiles for our customers, as they do not meet the high standards of quality and durability we uphold.
